Pe Arena Națională, FCSB a reușit să se impună în fața echipei Petrolul, într-un meci tensionat, cu scorul de 1-0, eliminând astfel șansele ploieștenilor de a accede în play-off. După această confruntare, Cristi Balaj a criticat aspru conducerea echipei oaspete.
„Meciul dintre FCSB și Petrolul s-a desfășurat conform declarațiilor lor. Au afirmat că nu sunt interesați,” a declarat acid Cristi Balaj după partida de pe Arena Națională.
Balaj a susținut că nu i-a acordat prea multă atenție meciului dintre FCSB și Petrolul. Președintele CFR Cluj a admis că declarația venită din partea conducerii echipei din Ploiești i-a indicat deja rezultatul meciului.
„Nu am urmărit tot meciul, am văzut doar o parte pentru a observa evoluția Petrolului. Am văzut și declarațiile unor membri ai echipei (n.r. Petrolul Ploiești). Ei au spus deja că se pregătesc pentru play-out și părea că meciul nu mai are nicio importanță. Așa că nu l-am urmărit. Nu mă așteptam la o astfel de declarație. Au stabilit deja rezultatul înainte de începerea meciului,” a explicat Cristi Balaj în cadrul emisiunii FANATIK SUPERLIGA.
Președintele CFR Cluj nu este prea convins că echipa antrenată de Adrian Mutu are șanse foarte mari la câștigarea titlului. După o scurtă analiză, Cristi Balaj a menționat că echipa joacă frumos, așa cum își doresc fanii, dar nu reușește să se apropie prea mult de prima poziție.
„E greu, greu. Mă uitam în aceste zile la cum arată golaverajul și nu stăm rău. Doar că e un avantaj pentru echipele care joacă așa cum jucam noi pe vremuri, când câștigam cu 1-0, 2-1 și aveam victorii cu o diferență de un gol. Ziceau suporterii că vor să jucăm frumos, chiar dacă nu câștigăm. Așa își doreau cândva. Acum avem multe ocazii, multe posibilități de a înscrie. Din păcate nu le fructificăm pe toate. Fotbalul este pe victorii. Apărarea e foarte importantă. Când vorbesc de apărare nu mă refer doar la linia defensivă. Uneori de aperi și cu toată echipa, obligatoriu cu linia de mijloc și alte ori și cu cei din atac” a concluzionat Balaj.

They were already saying they were preparing for the play-out, and it seemed like the match had no importance anymore. So, I didn’t watch it. I didn’t expect such a statement. They already determined the result before the match began,” explained Cristi Balaj during the FANATIK SUPERLIGA show.
The president of CFR Cluj isn’t very convinced that the team coached by Adrian Mutu has very high chances of winning the title. After a brief analysis, Cristi Balaj mentioned that the team plays beautifully, as fans desire, but they fail to get closer to the top spot.
„It’s tough, tough. I was looking at the goal difference these days, and it’s not bad for us. It’s just that it’s an advantage for teams that play like we used to back in the day when we won 1-0, 2-1, and had victories by a one-goal difference. The supporters used to say they want us to play beautifully, even if we don’t win. That’s what they wanted once. Now we have many opportunities to score. Unfortunately, we don’t capitalize on all of them. Football is about victories. Defense is very important. When I talk about defense, I don’t just mean the defensive line. Sometimes you defend with the whole team, necessarily with the midfield line, and sometimes with the attackers,” Balaj concluded.
